QR Code Generator

Type a link or choose a template such as Wi-Fi, and the code updates as you type. These are static QR codes: the information is stored in the pattern itself, so there is no account, no tracking, no expiry date and no server involved.

How to use the QR Code Generator

  1. Choose the content type (Link or text, Wi-Fi, Email or Phone) and fill in the fields.
  2. Pick the error-correction level, colours and size. Keep the dark-on-light contrast high.
  3. Scan the preview with your phone to check it.
  4. Download PNG for documents and screens, or SVG for print at any size.

Tips for better results

  • Dark code on a light background scans most reliably. Inverted (light on dark) codes are not read by every scanner.
  • Leave the quiet zone (the blank border) at 4 modules or more. Cropping it is the most common reason a printed code fails.
  • Shorter content makes a simpler, easier-to-scan code. For long URLs, use a short link.
  • Always test the printed result with more than one phone before printing in bulk.

Limitations you should know about

  • The data in a static QR code cannot be changed afterwards. If the link might change, point the code at a page you control and update that page.
  • Maximum capacity depends on the error-correction level; the tool tells you if the content is too long.
  • There is no logo overlay, to keep codes reliably scannable.
  • The Wi-Fi password is stored in the code in plain text. Anyone who scans the code can read it.

Frequently asked questions

Do these QR codes expire?

No. A static code is just an encoding of your text, so it works for as long as the information stays valid.

Which error-correction level should I choose?

M (about 15% recovery) is a good default. Use Q or H for codes that may get dirty or scratched; lower levels give simpler codes with more room for data.

Can I track scans?

No. Tracking requires a redirect through a server. A static code simply opens the content you encoded.

Is the information I type sent anywhere?

No. The code is generated in your browser.
